Mary Alice Reporting:

(Saturday, February 10th) Dover Township, Ohio – A boy is back home after being reported missing by his mother Friday night.

The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office reports the nine-year-old boy ran away from home after a brief argument with his mother.

The missing juvenile report was received around 7pm prompting a response from sheriff deputies, Dover fire department, and State Patrol troopers.

With the use of a Highway Patrol helicopter and thermal imagining, the boy was found sleeping on a hillside just before 3am several hundred yards in the woods near his home.

He was taken to Union Hospital and is expected to recover.

Sheriff Orvis Campbell notes without helicopter aid the situation would have ended differently since the child was out in 40-degree weather in the snow for about eight hours.

Job and Family Services will be investigating the incident.
