Clara E. Schlabach



Clara E. Schlabach, 59, of Sugarcreek died Monday September 3, 2012 at Union Hospital.

She was born March 6, 1953 in Dover to the late Owen J. and Mary (Troyer) Schlabach. She graduated in 1971 from Garaway High School and has worked the past 20 years for Kauffman’s Country Bakery at Bunker Hill decorating cakes.  She is a member of Walnut Creek Mennonite Church.

Clara is survived by her sisters Esther (Don) Warren of Fresno, Freda Troyer of Phoenix, Arizona, Frances (Randy) Keim of Bunker Hill, Nancy (Dean) Miller of Sugarcreek, her brother Ray (Sarah) Schlabach of Sugarcreek, sister-in-law Amanda Schlabach of Walnut Creek, 13 nieces and nephews Renee, Lance, Karena, Chris, Lori, Rachele, Stefanie, Kendra, Erica, Clint, Marlin, Kenny and Steve and 6 great nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Lester Schlabach. 

Services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Light in the Valley Chapel with Pastors Don Hamsher and Dan Owolabi with burial to follow in Walnut Creek Mennonite Church Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday 4-8 PM at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church 2916 CR 144 (Olde Pump St) Sugarcreek (Walnut Creek) and on Friday 9-10 AM prior to the services at Light in the Valley Chapel.  Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.  Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County 716 Commercial Ave. SW New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
