After growing up in the Follansbee area and graduating from Follansbee High School in the class of 1946, Dolores was a resident of Dennison for most of her life. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Altar Society and had taught fourth grade at Immaculate Conception Elementary for a time. Until her health prevented her, she was an active volunteer for her parish in a number of capacities including working at its annual festivals. She belonged to several card clubs and enjoyed the time that she spent playing cards with her friends. She was also a great lover of music. Dolores was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who managed Silco and Dollar General in Uhrichsville for many years, in addition to caring for her family.
On July 29, 1957, Dolores married William E. Trolio with whom she recently celebrated fifty-five years of loving marriage. She is also survived by their daughters, Marisa Ann (William Jr.) Ziegler of Canton and Gilda Ann (William) Shernoff of Beverly Hills, Ca.; grandchildren, David Ziegler of Canton and Summer Shernoff of Beverly Hills; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Edna Camarra, Henry and Marina Trolio, and Alex and Joanie Trolio; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Camarra, as well as her parents.
In keeping with Dolores’ wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation. A memorial mass, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, in lieu of flowers.
