Free Confidential HIV Testing
 
Are you concerned that you might have been exposed to HIV?  Free, confidential testing is available at the New Philadelphia City Health Department, 150 E. High Avenue, New Philadelphia on Tuesdays from 8am to 11:30am and on Thursdays from 8am to 11:30am and 1pm to 4pm.  Walk-ins are welcome.  If you would prefer to set up an appointment or would like to speak to a nurse, call 330-364-4491 ext. 208.  Test results will be done while you wait!
 
Technology, Computer or Gadget Questions
 
A monthly "Ask the Computer Guy" program where you can ask Rob Schwenk your technology, computer, or gadget related questions will be held on the first Saturday of every month from 10am to noon at the Dover Public Library.  Appointments are required.  Technology Room staff members Mary Prysi and Liz Strauss will take appointments throughout the week from those with questions about eBooks and eReaders.  For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 330-343-6123. 
 
Water Test Kits
 
Recent developments in oil and gas drilling have increased concerns about water quality.  Water test kits with sample bottles and detailed instructions are available from the Tuscarawas County office of the Ohio State University Extension, 419 16th Street SW, New Philadelphia.  The kits are free; however there is a $65 sample analysis fee payable directly to the lab.  For more information about the kits or drilling, leasing and other related topics, call 330-339-2337.

Free blood pressure checks by a Registered Nurse will be offered every Thursday from 1:30pm to 4pm at the New Philadelphia City Health Department, 150 E. High Avenue, Suite 11 in the John Knisely Municipal Centre.  For more information, call 330-364-4491 ext. 208.

Donation Lunch at Warren Township Community Center
 
The former New Cumberland Elementary School Building is the site for a community lunch every Monday from 11am to 1pm. The cost is a donation. The Warren Township Community Center is located on New Cumberland Road in Mineral City. For information, call 330-365-9240.
 
Donate Unwanted Items to Canton Preservation Society
 
Recycle unwanted items and help a worthy cause by donating to the Canton Preservation Society, a non-profit group dedicated to the preservation & restoration of structures and neighborhoods.  They accept most anything such as household, holiday, furniture, games, lighting, bedding, tools, office, doors, windows, sinks, tubs, salvage items, just to name a few.  No computers, printers, pianos or organs, please. Drop your donations off at the store, 1227 W. Tuscarawas Street, Canton or call for our truck to pick them up.  Store hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 5pm, Wednesday and Friday 9am to 3pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm.  Call 330-456-6811 for additional information.
 
Clothes Closet in Dover

A Clothes Closet will be open on the first and third Fridays of every month from 9:30am to 11:30am at the Dover Faith United Methodist Church, 420 N. Wooster Avenue, next to Memorial Hall in Dover.  Clothing is free.  Donations are welcome.
  
Clothes Closet in New Philadelphia
 
You can get free, good, clean, used (and sometimes very stylish) clothing at the Clothes Closet at JIM's Place, 228 W. High Avenue on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9:30am to 11:30am and Tuesday evenings from 5pm to 7pm.  And a free meal is served at the First United Methodist Church across the street on Tuesday evenings from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.  For those wishing to make clothing donations, a box is available outside of JIM’s Place 24/7.

The Tuscarawas County Humane Society is in need of items to help the animals through the winter. You can donate straw, dog boxes, crates, cat food, dog food, paper towels, soap, leashes cat litter, and much more. Library Teen Events
 
Teenagers in grades 7-12 are invited to Dover Public Library every Tuesday afternoon for a variety of events, such as Live Pac Man, movies and more. Alcohol and Addiction Program
 
The Tuscarawas County Health Department will hold a friends and family support and education group for family and friends of loved ones with an addiction. The meeting will be held the 1st Thursday of every month from 6-7:30pm. Participants can meet in the front lobby.
 
Overcomers Anonymous
 
Grace Church in Berlin will hold Overcomers Anonymous, a program open to all adults who struggle with an addiction or stubborn habit. The group will meet every Friday evening from 7:30 to 9pm. For more information, contact Director Tim Miller at 330-231-7991.
 
COAD Child Care Resource
 
COAD Ohio4Kids is a free service available to child care programs. If you are looking for training, have opening in your child care program, or looking for resources on activites and finances, COAD wants to help you. Call them at 1-800-577-2276 to see about the free services they can offer you.

Plat Books Available
 
The Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension has plat books available for purchase at the office, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm in New Philadelphia. The cost is $15 per book and proceeds benefit the 4-H program.
