Jackie had attended Timken High School and spent all of her adult life in the Navarre area, having worked as a cook for several local restaurants including the former Navarre Moose and together with her husband, Richard, had been a former owner of LeMay’s Hall of Foam in Canton. Jackie found great joy in her role as a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She likewise treasured the many friends she had made as a life member of the Navarre VFW Post 5047 Ladies Auxiliary.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jackie is survived by her husband, Richard D. (Dick) LeMay, with whom she would have celebrated 54 years of marriage in May; their children, Suzanne LeMay of Magnolia, John LeMay of Navarre and Brenda LeMay of Massillon; grandchildren, Michelle (Joe) Berlyak, Richard, Brandon and Ashlee LeMay, Jakob and Sondra Bradshaw and CJ Janosz; great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Christian, Shane, Sereniti, Gage and Vansyn; as well as her step-father, Morris Thomas of Malvern; sisters, Barbara (William) Girt of Canton, Karen Thomas of Malvern and a brother, George Philpott of Canton, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Navarre VFW. Pastor Tom Williams of Liberty Baptist Church will officiate. The family wishes to extend their most sincere thanks to Dr. Lewis D. Shaheen, MD and Dr. James A. Schmotzer, MD, the staff at Morningstar Hematology & Oncology Center, Aultman Hospice and Altercare of Navarre for the loving and compassionate care that Jackie received.
The family has asked for no additional flowers. However they have suggested that memorial contributions in Jackie's name be made in care of Liberty Baptist Church, 2349 Southway Street SE, Massillon, Ohio 44646. You may also visit the church's website, libertybaptist1111@gmail.com.
