Joseph Ernest Paternoster, age 77, of New Philadelphia, O., passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012, at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia, O., following a lengthy illness.
Born May 3, 1935, at Brooklyn, New York, Joe was the son of Guido and Irene (Deromedi) Paternoster.
Joe was raised by his grandparents Joseph and Minnie Deromedi in Maple Grove at Uhrichsville. He graduated from Tuscarawas High School class of 1954. Joe started his career working at Superior Clay in Maple Grove and ended it as a driver for SEI. He was a resident of Schoenbrunn Healthcare for the last 9 years and was in the loving care of not only the employees at Schoenbrunn but also Crossroads Hospice since September 2011.
Joe is survived by his children Julie and Tim Brown, Mary Beth Sullivan and Joseph and Susan Paternoster, all of Gnadenhutten; his grandchildren Heather Lee and Justin (Jami) Brown, Nathan Paternoster and Ian Wamboldt, Curt and Bess Paternoster and Andrea Sullivan; great grandchildren Austin and Kash Lee and Rylee Brown; sister Norma (George) Daube of Buford, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to parents and grandparents, Joe is preceded in death by an infant son John Arthur Paternoster.
Pursuant to Joe’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be observed. A family graveside service will be held at a later date at Gnadenhutten Clay Union Cemetery.
