New Philadelphia Holds Annual Principal for a Day Event

The New Philadelphia School District is sending community and business members to the principal’s office.

The fourth annual Principal for a Day event will take place on Tuesday, November 20th. New Philadelphia Schools Superintendent Bob Alsept says this event will provide seven distinguished residents with the chance to learn first-hand about the school system.

The seven area schools where the guest principals will serve are Central Elementary, Welty Middle School, South Elementary, York Elementary, West Elementary, East Elementary and New Philadelphia High School.

Alsept says the seven will be at the schools to which they are assigned for the entire school day.

Alsept feels that the Principal for a Day program is beneficial to both the guest principals and the school system.

The guest principals for this year’s Principal for a Day event will be Pastor Jim Borton of the First Christian Church in New Philadelphia, First Methodist Church pastor Reverend Steve Bailey, Dr. Carrie Hawk, Dennison Railroad Museum director Wendy Zucal, Farm Bureau President Steve Quillen, McDonald’s owner and operator Vickie Lewis and CEO/President of the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce Scott Robinson.
