Robert D. Miller



Robert D. Miller, 82, of Kidron, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital following a period of declining health.

He was born near Fredericksburg on January 16, 1931 to the late Jacob W. and Ada Mae (Herr) Miller and married Mary Lou Merreot on January 28, 1951. She survives.

He was the retired owner/operator of Bob’s Union 76 near Wooster and following retirement had worked at Lehman’s in Kidron and provided transportation for the Amish community. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed horses.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Bob (Sue) Miller of Dalton, Bonnie (Loren) Geiser of Orrville, Phil (Paula) Miller of Dalton and Colleen (Wayne) Cole of Jeromesville; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Living Water Community Church, 200 N. Kurzen Road, Dalton, with Pastor Dan Hostetler officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 PM at the church or on Tuesday, one hour prior to services. The family encourages you to dress casual as they will be wearing blue jeans and flannel. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
