Airport Runway Closes for Repairs

Mary Alice Reporting:

(Wednesday, September 13th) New Philadelphia, Ohio – The runway at Harry Clever Airport is set to be repaved at the end of this month causing a brief closure to airplanes.

New Philadelphia Service Director Ron McAbier says work will begin on September 25th.

“It is a four-inch mill off the complete runway, and four inches of top and base put back on.”

The $1.2 million project will take roughly four weeks to complete. McAbier explains for the first two weeks pilots can use the grass runway and over the remaining weeks no aircrafts will be using the airport.

Recreational and business pilots have been notified about the brief closure.
