Barbara Stevenson – January 1, 2018

Barbara Stevenson 90 of Sugarcreek went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek.

She was born June 18, 1927, in Magnolia to the late Irvin and Carrie (Miller) Boyd. She was a member of the Sandy Valley Church of God where she served in the past as Sunday School Teacher and Ladies Ministry President. She was retired from Alsco in Sugarcreek and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was married to Walter Stevenson in 1946 and he has preceded her in death.

She is survived by her three children: Kathy (Dave) Pelfrey, Linda Miller and John Stevenson, five grandchildren: Scott Norquest, Christy Miller, Melissa Miller, Cody Stevenson and Zach Stevenson; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Myra (Bernie) Porter and Naomi (Gene) Espenschied. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her two sons-in-law Dwight Norquest and Delbert Miller, daughter-in-law Faye Stevenson, her four brothers; Charles Boyd, Melvin Boyd, John Boyd and Cleo Boyd and her three sisters-in-law Arlona, Edith and Jean.

Services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Pastor Clifford Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Please visit the funeral home’s website to share a memory.
