Michele Spring Reporting:

(Monday, May 15, 2018) New Philadelphia – Incoming fifth and sixth graders will have the chance to discover possible job opportunities while attending summer camp.

Buckeye Career Center will hold their second annual Career Exploration Summer Camp on June 5th through the 7th from 9am to 11:30am.

Public Relations Coordinator Shyanne Carroll explained how this is open for students within Carroll, Holmes, and Tuscarawas counties.

“We passed out fliers to all of the students in those grades who are eligible to come to Buckeye when they are in high school. We just like to be able to expose them to what Buckeye is, they can see our building but more importantly, we are exposing them to the different careers that are out there.”

There will be ten different program options.

“The programs are really tailored to our labs. We’ve got Posey Pickers for example and that highlights floral design and greenhouse management. Crazy about Cars is a program that highlights auto technology and collision and that’s just two of the ten. So, there are many many options for students to hone their interests and have some fun.”

Parents interested in enrolling their child can visit www.buckeyecareercenter.org to complete the registration form or fill it out and mail it to Buckeye. The cost of the camp is $25 and includes a free t-shirt.

The deadline to register is May 31st. If you have any questions, call Kim Fisher at 330-339-2288 ext. 1243.
