Bluebell Drive will get needed upgrades through the Ohio Department of Transportation as they

New Philadelphia City Service Director Ron McAbier says that crews are expected to begin the first week of February.

“What you’ll see first [is the foundations] poured for the new poles and then from there, they’ll release the poles to the manufactures to be built, and those are supposed to be in by May.”

With a completion date projected for June 17th and final touches done by the end of July, McAbier notes that traffic may see minor impacts.

“If they have some lane closures it’ll just be during the day. All the work will be out of the roadway. When they go down and dig for the foundations you’ll have a little bit of disruption.”

The construction plans for the busy intersection began in 2016 to improve and increase the foot traffic from the hotels along Bluebell Drive to businesses.
