Bobby Vant Recco, Sr. – December 5, 2017

Bobby Vant Recco, Sr., 80, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover after a period of declining health. Born December 2, 1937 in Bluefield, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Furi V. and Edith (Gilkerson) Recco.

A resident of Uhrichsville since the early 60s, he was employed by several area trucking companies over the years. Bobby was a Navy veteran, a member of Dennison First Church of God, and a former member of the F. & A. M.

On November 17, 1984, he married the former Linda Lou Poletti with whom he enjoyed over 20 years of marriage until her passing on July 29, 2005. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Johnny Recco. His surviving family includes children, Bobby V. (Kathy) Recco, Jr., Kenneth W. (Sondra) Recco, Ricky L. Recco, Christine Recco-Withrow, and Kevin E. Recco; step-children, Rebecca (Steven) Toland, Kimberly Herron, and John Herron, Jr.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his dear friends, Rocky Cox, Nick Carter, Dan Hobart, and Bill Milburn.

Services, officiated by Pastor Jim Wallick, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside his beloved wife in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery with a military committal service. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
