Book Highlights 50 years at Kent State Tuscarawas

(Friday, November 30th) New Philadelphia, Ohio – A local college campus celebrated its golden anniversary this year and residents can meet the author of a book celebrating the campus’s journey.

The community united in 1968 to bring an accessible and affordable university to the area and the book “Kent State University at Tuscarawas – Celebrating 50 years on University Drive” offers a glimpse of its history.

Director of Advancement Chad Conrad explains when the campus open, about 200 students attended classes.

“Takes you through a journey from 1968 through today of what’s the major accomplishments that happened on campus, featuring the student successes of athletic teams, of various groups on campus, and professors.”

The university has made an impact in the community and the book written by 48 year Kent State Professor Dan Fuller documents those achievements.

The book is available to anyone in the community and can be purchased at Kent Tusc.

In addition, Professor Fuller will talk and sign books at the Dover Public Library on Saturday at 2pm. Books will be available and to register, contact the Dover Library at 330-343-6123.
