The current Ohio House Representative for the 51st District has officially announced his bid to run again.

Brett Hillyer represents the district serving all of Tuscarawas County and the southern portion of Stark County.

Hillyer says he is running for his fourth and final term and based upon the many committees he serves on, it gives the district he serve a voice at the statehouse but also nationally.

“[My] career as an attorney has been helpful for our district and a voice for our district, and I also serve nationally on the advisory panel for the Board of the American Conservative on Policing and Prosecuting.”

Hillyer, if reelected, would like to continue focus areas that are in line with Ohio’s budget, such as making the state economically competitive, return dollars to taxpayers, and create growth and opportunity.

A challenger in Jodi Salvo was announced and both Republicans will appear on the primary ballot, for the chance to win the nomination to be in the November election.
