(Wednesday, December 5th) Sugarcreek, Ohio – A Sugarcreek resident and local businessman will step into a school board seat until November.

The Garaway Board of Education needed to find a replacement after the death of Dan Fearon, who was battling an extended illness.

Superintendent Jim Millet explains that the board had 30 days to select a new member.

Out of seven candidates, John Shrock, a Garaway graduate, and owner of Superior Basement Systems, was sworn into the position on Friday.

“Long time community member and he’s been very active in supporting us through a variety of ways. His most recent, visible involvement has been through our athletic boosters. We’re excited. He’s definitely demonstrated the ability to be a team player and work with others.”

Millet notes that the board member spot will become available again in the 2019 November election.
