Nick McWilliams reporting – Improv and comedy icon Colin Mochrie is coming to the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center.

A pairing of Mochrie and Master Hypnotist Asad Mecci, who has appeared on HGTV, MTV and numerous live performances, HYPROV pairs hypnosis with unscripted comedy.

Mochrie, who’s appeared in movies, on television with the hit Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and across the world on stage, says that the show interacts with the audience, and makes them a part of the improve portion.

“Asad asks for 20 volunteers. He hypnotizes them, pairs it down to the best five subjects, and then they and I form an instant-improv troupe. So, it’s me improvising with five people in a trance.”

The show has already made stops in Canada and England.

Mochrie adds that through a trance-like state, people can become natural improve performers, reacting on pure instinct on a subconscious level.

Tickets for the performance start at $34 and can be purchased online on the PAC website or by calling the box office at (330) 308-6400.
