Michele Spring Reporting:

The Tuscarawas County Library will be hosting a genealogy class on Monday, April 23rd at 6:30pm titled, “Tombstone Research: The Dash between the Dates.”

Public Relations Assistant Molly Calhoun says that the library tries to offer classes that fit the community.

“The County Library offers a variety of genealogy programs throughout the year. We actually have a genealogy club that meets monthly, but every once in a while we like to do a special program about a specialized subject or different things we get suggestions from participants.”

Calhoun says Genealogy Librarian Deb Kitko will teach how researchers work and will go in depth about headstone and cemetery record information.

“She’s going to be talking about how she was able to piece together people’s lives in her family. She found information from headstones and cemetery records. So it’s really her talking about her personal experience and telling you how you can go about doing this sort of thing.”

This is a free event but registration is required.

If you have any questions please call the Tuscarawas County Library at (330)364-4474 ext. 101.
