Della Louise Jones, 94, of Newcomerstown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 7, 2022. She was born May 29, 1928, in Coshocton to the late Zachariah and Mary Agnes (Wilson) Bush.

A longtime member of First Baptist Church of Newcomerstown, Louise taught Sunday School to countless children for more than 25 years. She is survived by her husband, Paul M. Jones, whom she married on December 14, 1947, and with whom she shared nearly 75 years. They were blessed with three children: John M., Paul Steven (Steve), and Patricia (Tricia) L. Jones, who they raised on the family farm just south of Newcomerstown. Louise, known to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Grandma Weeze,” was a master homemaker and was adored by all who knew her.

Her steady and unending love and guiding direction were present in every moment. In all ways, she set the standard for what a Grandma should be. From the Christmas ornaments that she painstakingly selected for each child every year to the cookies and pies–including her “world famous” lemon meringue–that would come from her oven when comforting or celebration was warranted, to the hot lunches she would serve to whoever was working the fields at planting or harvest time, she was skilled at making sure all knew they were loved and cared for. The echoes of her call for mealtime, “Wooooo Whooooooo!” will resound in the hearts and memories of her family just like the warmth and love that was found in the meals that followed it.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her son John M. Jones, brothers Robert Eugene (Bob) Bush, Charles Edward (Charlie) Bush, William Howard (Bill) Bush, and sister Margaret Ann (Margie) Waller, as well as her grandson, Ryan L. Jones.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her son, Steve (Sherry) of Newcomerstown; daughter Tricia of Gnadenhutten; daughter-in-law Carolyn (John) Jones of Newcomerstown; grandchildren Derek Putnam of West Lafayette; Jonathan (Roxann) Putnam of West Lafayette; Kristen (Lucy) Jones- Wickersham of Seattle, Washington; Nathan (Robin) Jones of Pickerington; Jonathan (Nora) Jones of Cincinnati; Jason Berg of Fresno; Joshawa (Junelle) Jones of Gnadenhutten; Rebekah Jones of Arlington, Virginia; and Justin (Julie) Berg of Newcomerstown, as well as her many great-grandchildren whom she loved and adored.

Calling hours will be held at Addy Funeral Home on Thursday, November 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11. A celebration of life officiated by Pastor Wayne Baker will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 11 at Addy Funeral Home, followed by graveside services
at West Lawn Cemetery. Afterward, family and friends are invited to gather at First Baptist Church for food and memories.
