<p>Mary Alice Reporting:

(Monday, February 12th) New Philadelphia, Ohio – A local restaurant is helping a Starlight School program for kids.

Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities Community Relations Coordinator Kerri Silverthorn says the Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) team allows the kids to learn about behavior in a positive was and ways to model those behaviors.

Those PBIS dollars are then spent at a school store.

This evening (Monday), Chipotle in New Philadelphia is holding a Dine to Donate fundraiser from 4pm to 8pm.

“If you go in 50% of those proceeds go to the PBIS store program. The monies that come from that will go toward buying some of the items that go into the store. They also do activities after and some of those are purchased.”

To make sure the funds are collected, you can get a flier on TuscBDD’s Facebook page or tell the cashier your support PBIS.

Silverthorn adds the program, funded through mostly donations, really helps the students reach goals and learn new skills along the way.
