Donald Lee Huprich, 78, of Dover passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Aultman Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born on February 10, 1940 in Dover, he was the son of the late Milford Miller and Sarah Isabelle (Ervin) Huprich. He graduated from Dover High School with the class of 1958. He attended Ohio State University and served as the Buckeye football manager. He honorably served our country in the United States Air Force Security Squadron for four years during Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1966. On April 22, 1967, he married Patricia Anna Maddox. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
Donald retried from Reeves Steel (Cyclops/Armco) in 2000 where he worked in the AK shipping department for 33 years. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Dover, Sons of the American Revolution, and the American Legion. He was a past member of the Dover Tornado Club and the Dover Jaycees where he served numerous offices in both organizations.
Donald was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Buckeyes. He also enjoyed following the Dover Tornadoes.
In addition to his wife, Pat, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Dann (Shelley) Huprich, and Dean Huprich.
Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 1-2pm. A memorial service will take place at 2pm with Pastor Thomas Dunkle officiating. Following the service military rites will take place at the funeral home. A reception will follow in the Famous Endings Museum at the funeral home.
