Douglas C. “Doug” Lemasters, age 55, of Dover, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 17, 2018.
Born September 25, 1962, in Dover, he was a son of Carol A. Googash Lemasters of New Philadelphia and the late John Lemasters. Doug graduated from Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School in 1982, and was employed by Advance Sewer Systems, Canton.
He enjoyed sports and was a die-hard Miami Dolphins fan. Doug also enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and Browns. He had a green thumb and took special pride in his yard and garden. Doug was a member of the American Italian Club, Dennison, and a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Amvets, New Philadelphia.
Doug will be sadly missed by his mother, Carol; his brothers, Bruce and Jon Lemasters, both of New Philadelphia; his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Angie Lemasters of Dover; his uncle and aunt, Steven and Susan Googash of Miamisburg; his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides his father, John, Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Carrie Googash and Ernie and Thelma Lemasters.
Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, May 23, 6 – 8 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 24, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home; Fr. Jeff Coning of New Philadelphia’s Sacred Heart Church will officiate. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal, there will be a lunch in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
