(Tuesday, March 13th) Dover, Ohio – The Reeves Carriage House will host an evening of learning about Dover basketball.

Don Maurer will discuss his book, “George Elford and the Story of the Dover Basketeers” this Thursday. The local story highlights Dover students in the 1950’s and 1960’s as the Basketeers, who rise to national fame, impressing spectators with moves that imitated the Harlem Globetrotters.

Mauer, who was a Basketeer himself, graduated from Dover High School in 1965 and says the event will give him an opportunity to share the amazing story of the Basketeers.

“It came out in January and I will be talking about that book and autographing any copies that people may want to purchase.”

The graphic artist for the book, Bill Shyrock, will also be in attendance at the March 15th event at 6:30pm.

To register for the free community event, call the Reeves Museum at 330-343-7040.
