Nick McWilliams reporting – The Dover Public Library is opening its doors for an educational night about a sometimes forgotten pet.
Rabbits are a staple of many homes in addition or in lieu of more common pets, but their unique lifestyles and nature make them different from other furry companions.
Youth Services Manager Claire Kandle says that the central-Ohio based Bring the Farm to You will handle the showing, thanks to Founder and Director Christa Hein.
“This is a new [program] she’s offering, about raising rabbits. She’s going to actually bring a rabbit with her. If anybody has been thinking about having a rabbit as a pet but wasn’t really sure, Christa’s just wonderful at explaining things to you and making sure you know everything you need.”
The rabbit will remain in the library for two weeks, allowing children a chance to interact while browsing books.
All bases, including diet, care, and health maintenance will be discussed at the June 17th program.
Registration is available at www.doverlibrary.org/register.
