Edgar Loren “Jack “ McQueen – January 7, 2018

Edgar Loren “Jack “ McQueen 90, of Baltic died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek.  He was born March 1, 1927 in Bucks Township, Tuscarawas County to the late Loren and Emma (Baab) McQueen.

He was the owner and operator of McQueen’s Inc. in Baltic before retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Baltic and lifetime member of the former Baltic Church of the Brethren. Jack was an Army Veteran of WW II, member of the former Baltic American Legion and then was a member of the Sugarcreek Homer Weiss American Legion, 32nd Degree mason and member of the West Lafayette Masonic lodge and a member of the Garaway Lions Club. He was a life member of the Baltic Volunteer Fire Dept. and former EMT for Swiss Valley Ambulance. 

He is survived by his wife, the former Doris Fair whom he married April 15, 1951; his two daughters Susie (Tim) Immel and Brenda (Mark) Johnson both of Sugarcreek, 8 grandchildren Matthew (Vanessa) Immel, Angela (Kyle) Miller, Ryan (Megan) Immel, Joshua (Lindsay) McQueen, Travis McQueen, Megan (Mandie) McQueen, Jeremiah Johnson and Justin Johnson, 10 great grandchildren, his brother Theodore (JoAnn) McQueen of North Carolina and extended family Elaine Santee of New Philadelphia..  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Terry McQueen and two sisters Ellen Gardner and Mary Graef. 

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek where Masonic Services will be held at 7PM. Rev. Dr. Jim Henninger will officiate for Services on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home. A lunch will follow in the Hospitality Room of the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Coshocton Memory Gardens at 2:30 PM where Military Honors will be conducted.
