Nick McWilliams reporting – The deputy director for the Tuscarawas County Board of Elections is resigning her post, effective October 4th.
Sarah Kneuss, a long-time member of the board, turned in her letter of resignation on Monday.
She says that after over 13 years spent with the board, it was time to move on to different undertakings.
“It was just time to move on. I’ve had a wonderful 13.5 years there. I’ve worked with two great directors, 10 different board members. And it was just time to spend some more time with my family and help my husband grow his businesses.”
Kneuss is the second board member to resign this year, after Allan Sayre stepped down as director in May, and eventually replaced by Gail Garbrandt.
A new deputy director will be selected following Kneuss’ departure.
“There will be a posting in newspapers and there will be an interview period. They will then select from those candidates who apply.”
Kneuss says that she is proud of the fairness and efficiency the board has seen with all elections, and looks forward to that continuing in the future.
