Elizabeth Mae Knight, 100, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover. Born August 29, 1917 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Walter R. and Marie (Tacker) Buckio.
On September 9, 1938, Elizabeth married Charles Edward Knight who died on February 16, 1961 after 22 years of marriage. They are survived by their daughter-in-law, Peggy Knight; grandchildren, Kathleen (James) Watson, Jerry E. Knight, II and Mistina (David) Tolarchyk; great-grandchildren, John Knight, Jessica McCullough, Heath Watson, Desiree Watson, Sophia Knight, Sammy Knight, Tyler Tolarchyk and Tanner Tolarcyk; and great-great-grandchildren, Kohl, Kenadie and Klark Watson, Isaiah, Lilyona and Zoe Hardy, and Dominic and Leland McCullough. Elizabeth is also survived by her sister, Norma Jean Ward; several nieces and nephews; and her longtime, dear friends, Maude Ellen Jones, Winnie McGuire, and Shirley Simmons. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry E. Knight; grandson, John C. Knight; and brother, Ray Buckio.
Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had also worked for several area factories until her retirement from Fab Ohio in Uhrichsville. She was a member of AARP and enjoyed visiting the Tuscarawas Senior Center. In the early 60’s, she was a Navy Mother while her son, Jerry, served his country. She was a longtime member of Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church.
A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Scott Simmons, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 14, in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery where she will be interred beside her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church and Great Lakes Hospice.
