Ervin A. Schlabach, 90, of 6362 County Road 407, Millersburg, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Millersburg on December 16, 1927 to the late Albert J. and Susan (Zook) Schlabach and married Mary Raber on November 19, 1953. She survives.
He retired from Hope Wood, where he was a wood worker. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and was ordained as Minister in October of 1970 and Bishop in May of 1998.
In addition to his wife. He is survived by children, Susie (Jacob) Miller of Millersburg, Mattie (Monroe) Yoder of Fresno, Henry (Mary) Schlabach of Dundee, Aden (Celesta) Schlabach of Millersburg and Mervin (Anna) Schlabach of the home; 20 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Martha, Mary, Elizabeth, Simon, Perry, Susie, Polly, Paul, Barbara, Saloma, Nelson, Emma and an infant brother.
Services will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at the Schlabach residence with Bishop Daniel Schlabach officiating. Burial will be in the Raber Cemetery in Mechanic Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime after 3 PM on Wednesday at the Schlabach Residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
