Mary Alice Reporting:

(Wednesday, June 13th) Dover, Ohio – The Tuscarawas County Valley Farmers Market is inviting the community to celebrate their 10-year existence today.

The Market will operate from 3 pm until 7 pm at the fairgrounds in Dover.

Chairperson Mark McKenzie says to celebrate, the first 150 shoppers can get a free scoop of ice cream from Schloneger’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream truck.

As part of the birthday event, shoppers can win some giveaways, participate in activities, and listen to Barefoot McCoy from 5 pm until closing.

Other events taking place this afternoon include children learning how to create veggie art and a 5 pm cooking demonstration in the Clover Café.

The market runs every Wednesday from now through October 10th.

“One of the unique features of our market is that it’s a producer’s only market. Which means [a vendor] can’t buy a product and then resell a product.”
