Fine Issued for Disorderly Conduct Cases

<p>Mary Alice Reporting:

(Wednesday, June 13th) New Philadelphia, Ohio – A fee will now be imposed if you’re convicted of disorderly conduct within New Philadelphia City limits.

A $50 minimum fine was agreed on by the council and the funds will go toward a special fund for the police department.

City Law Director Marvin Fete says that this is selective for New Philadelphia minor misdemeanor drunken disorderly conduct cases. Through a new ordinance, any fines collected will now go back for law enforcement use.

“What this does is earmarks it to a specific fund for the police to use as they see fit. I believe they will likely choose to use it for upkeep and training for taser materials.”

In addition to the new fee, individuals must still pay any court costs.
