Michele Spring Reporting:

(Monday, May 15, 2018) – The Friends of the Library will host its annual book sale as a fundraiser for the library’s Capital Campaign.

Dover Public Library Director Jim Gill says the revenue from this sale will go toward renovations for the library.

“The library has never been remodeled. There have been minor updates over the years so now is the time to wire it properly for the use of today’s patron base. Everyone wants to plug in now with iPads, laptops, and phones. So this is our time to do that and it’s always a time to lay out the library in a way that is more efficient.”

Gill says he hopes for that project to begin later in 2018.

There will a special educator preview on Thursday before the sale begins.

“From 3:30 to 5:30pm. This is children and teen materials, a lot of AR books, accelerated reader books – educators are excited about that. So we invite homeschool parents and teachers and anyone in the school system to come and pick over that stuff before the sale begins Friday.”

Thousands of books, audiobooks, DVD’s and other items will be available. The sale will be open Friday from 10am to 5pm and reopens again on Saturday at 9am.
