(Thursday, November 08, 2018) Sugarcreek, Ohio – The Garaway School District is mourning the loss of School Board member Dan Fearon. Mr. Fearon passed away on the evening of November 6th just before the board was set to accept his resignation on November 7th.

Superintendent Jim Millet said that Fearon took a leave of absence to battle an extended illness.

“He was hoping, we were all hoping and praying he was going to make it through these health issues. He took a short leave of absence and was fighting that battle.”

Fearon served as a board member for six years and prior to that was a Garaway School District employee. He served on the policy and buildings and grounds committees.

“I can tell you that he was very passionate and caring about this school district, it’s one of the things I valued in him so much. Something not everyone may have seen behind the scenes is he is a very positive, encouraging individual. So, he will be greatly, greatly missed.”

Millet said Fearon worked passionately to make life and education better for the kids and Garaway community.
