Glen C. Fisher – December 29, 2017

Glen C. Fisher 87 of Sugarcreek died Friday, December 29, 2017 at his residence.

He was born May 20, 1930 in Beach City to the late William and Lydia (Dummermuth) Fisher. He was retired from Hardy Coal and had also worked as a truck driver for Matt Beachy and Pleasant Valley Trucking, and had been a watchman for the former Owens-Illinois in Berlin. He was married on January 30, 1950 to the former Betty J. Hostetler and she died on October 17, 2012.

He is survived by his children Sue (Kenny) Stein of Dundee, Pat (Bill) Dettmer of Millersburg, Peggy Troyer of Dover and Clayton (Nancy) Fisher of New Philadelphia; his 9 grandchildren Ben (Dorothea) Stein, Rachel (Corey Collier) Stein, Sheri Miller, Tim Miller, Clint (Lisa) Troyer, Emily (L.W.) Beckley, Nathan (Amber) Fisher, Garrett Fisher, Sara (Josh Roach) Fisher, 10 great grandchildren and was waiting the arrival of 2 additional great grandchildren in the spring, his sister Alice Maurer of Dover and his friend Bonnie Nickles of Berlin. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother and his wife William (Alta Mae) Fisher, his brother Paul Fisher and his brother-in- law Harry Maurer.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Rev. Ray Garvin officiating. Burial will follow in the Dundee Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Following services at the funeral home on Thursday, a family reception will be held in the Funeral Home
