Gloria Ellen Snyder, 90, of Dover, Ohio, previously of Port Washington, passed away surrounded by her family on February 9, 2023, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover. Gloria was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Robert Shea and Carol (Soulvie) Olday.
On July 30, 1955, Gloria married Clair “Jack” Snyder, who survives. Gloria was a COAD foster grandparent for Port Washington Elementary for 13 years, and she was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Port Washington. She loved animals and enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, and canning. She always had a cup of coffee in her hand. Everyone loved to come home for Grandma’s spaghetti. Gloria touched many lives and made many friends in both staff and residents at Park Village.
Along with her husband, Gloria is survived by her children, Linda (Bryan) Gerstung of Gnadenhutten, Jackie (Wade) Wolgamott of Leesburg, and Robin (Mike) Corpman Waits of Port Washington; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Shea and Norman “Bill” Shea; her son-in-law, Bill Corpman; great-grandson, Dylan Markwell; stepfather, Robert Olday.
A memorial service will be held for Gloria Ellen Snyder on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 2:30 PM at Addy Funeral Home, 406 W. State Street, Newcomerstown, OH 43832, with Chris Shea officiating. Visitation will take place at 1:30 PM, prior to the service. Memorial donations in Gloria’s name may be made to Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685.
