Mary Alice Reporting:

(Friday, July 6th) Gnadenhutten, Ohio – If you’re looking for fun activities, a two-day festival takes place this weekend.

The Gnadenhutten Fireworks Festival official kicked-off Thursday with the Miss and Little Miss Firecracker contest.

Committee member Hope Johnson says that on Friday, the midway opens at 3pm at Hecks Grove Park.

Activities continue into Saturday with the Kustom Kemps Car Show from 9am to 1pm, the Lions Club Chicken BBQ at 11am, and the Grand Parade at 2pm.

“It’ll come from Zimmerman Road, come up Main Street, onto Walnut Street, and back down on Tuscarawas Street to end at Hecks Grove Park.”

July 7th ends with the $11,000 “Country Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks display with synchronized music on 99.9FM.

“All this money and we blow it up within half-hour, 45 minutes, but people do come from all over. They really enjoy this. You don’t have to be right there in the park, you can watch it from a distance, and that’s what makes our fireworks so special.”
