HEAP Program Open for Winter Season

(Tuesday, November 14th) Tuscarawas County, Ohio – Vulnerable Tuscarawas County residents can stay warm this winter through the assistance of the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP).

HARCUTUS Community Services Director Michele Lucas explains the program has been helping low-income households with heating expenses for more than 30 years.

The program can help those who may receive a disconnect notice on their gas or electric bill. She notes there are some eligibility guidelines.

“The income requirement which is for a house hold of four people its $42,525 a year.”

Lucas also encourages individuals who are disabled or elderly to reach out for heating assistance.

The program is open now through March 31, 2018.
