(Thursday, November 29th) Tuscarawas County, Ohio – Those in a tight financial position this winter can keep the heat on through an assistance program.
The Ohio Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is open through March to help low-income households.
HARCATUS Tri-County Community Services Director Michele Lucas encourages the older population to take advantage of the winter program that is funded through tax dollars.
“This is a way for them to recover their investment and get a little bit of assistance with their utility bills, whether it be gas, electric, or if they heat with a bulk fuel, such as fuel oil, propane, coal, or wood.”
Income eligibility guidelines begin at $21,245 for a one-person household and increase just over $7,500 for each additional household members.
The program ends on March 31st and for more information, contact HARCATUS Tri-County.
