Hearing Set for Man Charged in Guernsey County OD Death

(August 10th) Cambridge, Ohio – An alleged MS-13 gang member is set to appear in court on Monday in connection with a recent overdose death in Cambridge.

25-year-old Isaiah Groves, of Zanesville, is facing one count each of corrupting another with drugs and disrupting public services.

Law enforcement officials note they are also still searching for a Byesville woman believed to be Groves’ girlfriend, 23-year-old Shannon Hupp. She is also reportedly facing charges of corrupting another with drugs.

The charges are in connection to the death of a 35-year-old resident who died after being hospitalized following an alleged overdose. Groves is accused of delivering fentanyl-laced heroin to the overdose victim and also allegedly stopped people at the house from calling 911 when the victim overdosed.

Cambridge police have confirmed that the couple is also facing potential charges of manslaughter and drug trafficking. Those charges are expected to be presented to the Guernsey County grand jury.
