Nick McWilliams reporting – Following a brief hiatus during colder months, bridge replacements outside Newcomerstown will start again in the coming days.

The southbound lane of I-77 saw the completion of a bridge replacement over U.S. 36 last fall, and the Ohio Department of Transportation will now turn their attention to the northbound side.

District 11 Public Information Officer Lauren Borell says that some traffic changes will occur during the work.

“Southbound traffic will remain the same. We’ll have two lanes of traffic maintained. Northbound traffic, we will have two lanes maintained at all times, but it will be via crossovers. So folks will see a change in traffic pattern there, but we will be keeping two lanes maintained.”

As always, motorists are advised to use caution in those areas, and plan ahead for any delays, even with projected lower traffic totals with state mandates amid the coronavirus outbreak.
