Mary Alice Reporting:
(Monday, December 17th) Delays are expected for today and beginning on Wednesday for two separate work restrictions.
Northbound and southbound lanes near Strasburg will be stopped briefly around 10:30 this morning for utility work.
Ohio Department of Transportation crews, along with Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers will assist with alert signs and a rolling roadblock.
District 11 Public Information Officer Lauren Borrell says the work on Interstate 77 will be around 2 miles north of Strasburg, near the St. Peters Church overpass.
“This work is related to Charter Communications bringing in a fiber optics line. We don’t expect any long delays.”
Motorists are urged to use caution in both areas and to pay attention for stopped traffic.
In addition, on Wednesday, ODOT will restrict a section of State Route 212 for railroad crossing work in Carroll County.
“South of Sherrodsville, between Crowder Road and Deer Road. This is at the railroad crossing on 212. This is for work completed by Wheeling Lake Erie. They’ll have traffic maintained at all times with one lane and they’ll have flaggers out there.”
The SR 212 restriction will be from 7 am to 4 pm with weather permitting.
