Ida E. Gingerich – December 2, 2016

Ida E. Gingerich 99 of Walnut Creek passed away peacefully Friday, December 2, 2016 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home at Walnut Creek.  

She was born June 15, 1917 in Holmes County to the late Emanuel and Lizzie Ann (Troyer) Gingerich.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Amish Church.  She worked hard and helped many people-especially needy children through Compassion and was very attentive to her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her 2 sisters Emma Yoder and Nora (Jake) Miller and sister-in-law Lorene Gingerich all of Millersburg.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law Alma (Vernon) Kauffman, Nettie (Harvey) Hochstetler and Lloyd Yoder, her brothers and sisters-in-law Henry (Verna) Gingerich, Atlee (Betty) Gingerich and Paul Gingerich, 2 infant brothers, 5 nephews, 1 niece and 1 great niece. 

Services will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 9:00 AM at the Owen Yoder Residence (Owens Field) 5628 TR 401 with Bishop Peter Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Raber Cemetery in Walnut Creek Twp., Holmes County.  Friends may call any time after 1:00 PM on Saturday at the Owen Yoder Residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek. 

The family would like to thank the Staff at Walnut Hills Nursing Home for the 5 years of great care they gave to Ida.
