Janice C. Tango 89 of Dover and formerly of Baltic died Friday, December 9, 2016 at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia following an extended illness.
She was born May 16, 1927 in Coshocton County to the late Edward and Irene (Gerber) Kleinknecht. She retired from Garaway Schools in 1988 where she was a cook for 18 years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church at Baltic, the Baltic American Legion Auxiliary and Eastern Star Lodge of Coshocton.
She is survived by her husband Alfred W. Tango whom she married September 14, 1946 and celebrated 70 years of marriage this year; her children Carla (Steve) Stein of New Philadelphia, Jan (William) Harstine of Strasburg, Kenneth (Sue) Tango of Dover, and Ned (Carol) Tango of New Philadelphia, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, her sister Marilyn VonAllman of Windsor, Colorado and her sister-in-law Sandy Kleinknecht of Sugarcreek. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her great grandson Nathan Stein, her brother John Kleinknecht and her sister Annabelle Levengood.
Private Family Graveside Services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 9:30 AM at West Lawn Cemetery in Baltic with Rev. Ellen Mills officiating. Memorial Services will follow at St. John Lutheran Church in Baltic at 11:00 AM. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-3 PM at the Smith-Varns Funeral Home 115 Andreas Drive in Sugarcreek.
