John Schlabach Jr., 72, of 31037 SR 643 Fresno died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 26, 1946 to the late John A. and Mary (Hershberger) Schlabach of Holmes County. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Katie M. Miller, whom he married on March 1, 1973; his children, Anna (David) Yoder of the home, Martha (Norman) Mast, Leroy (Ina) Schlabach, Daniel (Ida) Schlabach, John (Amanda) Schlabach, Jacob (Delores Mae) Schlabach, Mary (Abe) Yoder, Katianna (Myron) Miller all of Fresno, Joseph (Susan) Schlabach, David (Elsie) Schlabach, Ruby (David) Yoder, Melvin Jay (Linda) Schlabach, Rachel (Reuben) Yoder all of Millersburg; 61 grandchildren; father-in-law, Melvin J. Miller; sisters, Lizzie Keim of Mt. Hope, Amanda Coblentz, Anna (Jonas) Miller, Mary (Eli) Raber all of Baltic, Verna (Emanuel) Miller of Millersburg and Emma (Dan) Troyer of Sugarcreek; brother, Roman (Ada) Schlabach of Sugarcreek;2 sisters-in-law, Ida Schlabach of Fresno and Sara (Levi) Miller of Mt. Eaton; and a brother-in-law, Eli (Mary) Stutzman of Fresno. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 sisters-in-law, and 3 brothers-in-law.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 9:00 AM at the Family Residence with Minister Aden M.C. Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery in Millcreek Twp., Coshocton County. Friends may call anytime after 1:00 PM Sunday at the Family Residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
