Joseph Coblentz Jr. 91 of 3434 Pleasant Valley Rd SW Baltic died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 25, 1926 in Holmes County to the late Joseph and Susanna (Troyer) Coblentz.
He is a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Amanda Schlabach whom he married on April 21, 1949; his 5 children Mary (Aden) Raber and Marvin (Marie) Coblentz both of Millersburg, Alice (Jonas) Erb and Rhoda (Henry) Miller both of Baltic and Roman (Clara) Coblentz of the home, 23 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, his brother Mose Coblentz of Millersburg, 5 sisters Ada Miller and Elsie Schlabach both of Berlin, Betty Miller of Walnut Creek, Sue Troyer of Sugarcreek and Ruth Mast of Tennessee and sister-in-law Sarah Coblentz of Walnut Creek. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 7 brothers Ben, Willis, Albert, Ervin, Jacob, Roman and Noah, 2 sisters Fannie and Mary, 1 grandchild and 2 great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 9:00 AM at the Eli Miller Residence 11784 Hilltop Road SW Baltic with Minister Ervin Hershberger officiating. Burial will be in Troyer Cemetery in Bucks Twp., Tuscarawas County. Friends may call anytime Friday at the Eli Miller Residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
