Kenneth R. Levengood 91 of Walnut Creek and formerly of Baltic died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a brief illness.
He was born March 27, 1925 in Baltic to the late Daniel F. and Vennie (Krebs) Levengood. He retired in 1988 as Railroad Maintenance Foreman at Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ at Baltic and was a former member of the Baltic American Legion having served in the US Army.
He was married on June 13, 1948 to the former Elizabeth M. Kobel and she died October 19, 2011. She is survived by her children Joann Wilcoxon of Baltic and Jeffery (Christene) Levengood of Dover, 4 grandchildren Diann (Mark) Mansill, Paula Keppler, Jennifer (Erik) Oreto and Joann (Derrick) Zobenica and 9 great grandchildren Katherine Mansill, Ryan Hostetler, Zach Wilcoxon, Jacob Hostetler, Daniel Keppler, Logan Oreto, Drevin Zobenica, Camden Zobenica and Lane Zobenica.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his son-in-law Sam Wilcoxon and 2 sisters Mary Hardesty and Arlene Stantz. Services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:00 Am at the Zion United Church of Christ at Baltic with Dr. Rev. Jim Henniger officiating. Burial will be in the Coshocton Memory Gardens at Coshocton where the Coshocton Veteran Council will conduct Military Honors. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek and Thursday from 10-11 AM at the church prior to services.
