Larry L. Flinner, Sr – August 22, 2017

Larry L. Flinner, Sr. 77 of Dover died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg following a lengthy illness.

He was born November 23, 1939 in Shanesville to the late Paul and Beulah (Sommers) Flinner. He first worked at Moomaw Chevrolet and Widder Shell in Sugarcreek before working with Boilermaker Union Local #85.  He was a Stock Car Driver and enjoyed following NASCAR.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to bluegrass music and doing handy work around the house.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth (Ruegsegger) Flinner and his second wife Nancy (Stagner) Flinner.  He is survived by his children Larry Flinner Jr. of Walnut Creek, Kathy Flinner of Fostoria, Kelly Blile of N. Canton, Karry (Rudy) Hernandez of Fostoria and Kimberly (Todd) Gerdeman of Lepsic, OH, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, his brother William “Bill” (Jean) Flinner of Walnut Creek and sister Janet Maust of Sugarcreek.  In addition to his parents and two wives, he is preceded in death by his son Kenny, his brother Kenny, granddaughter Laura and a great grandson. 

Services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home 115 Andreas Drive in Sugarcreek with Pastor Mike Gehman officiating.  Friends may call Friday from 3-6 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral in Sugarcreek prior to Services.
