Mary Alice Reporting – Known for hits like “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “The Sound of Silence”, iconic singer Art Garfunkel will give a local performance.
The Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas will host the 10 time Grammy-winning artist on September 10th at 7:30pm.
General Manager David Mitchell says it’s not every day that patrons can see a living legend.
“It’s not very often that we have the opportunity to say that we have a rock-n-roll hall of famer on our stage. We’re very excited and I encourage everybody to take this chance.”
He is best known for his partnership with Paul Simon, making up the American folk-rock duo Simon and Garfunkel, who were popular from the 1960’s to 1970.
Mitchell adds that this will be a nostalgic show for those who grew up in the era where the duo became one of the best-selling music groups at the time.
“I can remember growing up and listening [to them] and I think that music is timeless, and that every generation can identify with it and appreciate it.”
Tickets start at $53. For additional details and availability, contact the PAC box office at 330-308-6400.
