Leslie Lee Kauffman, 62, of Dennison, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Born August 6, 1955 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Howard Jesse and Bertha G. (Carpenter) Kauffman.
Les was a lifelong Twin City resident with the exception of the years that he spent proudly serving his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1975 to 1978. He returned to a career at Empire Detroit Steel (later AK Steel). He was an avid practitioner of the Martial Arts from the time that he was 14 years old who also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On April 12, 1987, he married the former Deborah C. Zellhart who survives him at their home. He is also survived by children, Jennifer (Johnny) Stevens, Melissa (Bill) Dominy, Christopher (Nikki) Jewell and Kevin (Wendy) White; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, BabRhetta (John) Maxwell and Sharon (Lou) Christensen; brother, Tracy Kauffman; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Kauffman, and sister, Connie Hammond.
According to Les’ wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, Inc., 26 Grant St., Dennison, OH 44621, to help defray the cost of his final expenses.
