(Thursday, November 29th) Dover, Ohio – A renovation project at the Dover Library is in the final stages and patron will see a few disruptions.
Temporary closings will take place starting on Monday leading up to a grand re-opening.
Dover Library Director Jim Gill points out that the work interference will be in several departments.
“We will have the community room, which also served as our temporary adult department, as well as the technology and the lounge will be closed until we re-open on December 16th. We’re going to try to keep our children’s room open [but] at some point, we do need to close that.”
The renovation idea started in 2014 and after reaching their financial goal, work began in August.
“We have final painting in some areas, new fixtures and furnishings coming, some repairs to the walls and domes final electrical work that needs to be done. This has really been a grass-roots fundraising efforts. We’ve raised $487,000, a remarkable amount of money for our community.”
The total cost for the upgrades to the adult and teen areas, as well as the basement, is around $500,000.
