Lizzie Wilhelm – December 6, 2017

Lizzie Wilhelm 89 of Dundee died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Park Village Nursing Home in Dover. She was born July 10, 1928 in Beach City, Ohio to the late Menno and Lydia (Miller) Hershberger. 

She worked at Harmon and Walnut Hills Nursing Homes for 13 years and retired in 1994 from Winesburg Poultry where she worked for 15 years. Lizzie was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Walnut Creek. She was married on June 2, 1950 to Forrest W. Wilhelm who died on July 12, 1977. 

She is survived by her son Larry Wilhelm of Sugarcreek, her 2 daughters Marlene Rothacher of Strasburg and Tina (Brady) Frink of New Philadelphia, 3 sisters Mary Stutz of Dover, Katie Grossniklaus of Winesburg and Amanda Fresch of Norwalk, 5 grandchildren Jason (Kim) Wilhelm of Dundee, Josh (Mandy) Frink of Uhrichsville, Nicole (Markus) Burton, Tricia (Chris) Bailey, and Zachary (Amy) Frink all of New Philadelphia and 5 great grandchildren Rylee and Jayden Wilhelm, MaKayla and Clayton Frink and Chloe Rothacher. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death her daughter-in-law Becky Wilhelm, son-in-law Estel Rothacher, her three brothers Mel, Eli and David Hershberger and her sister Clara Lang.

Services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Rev. Andy McClung officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery in Dover. Friends may call on Friday from 12:00 (Noon) – 2 PM prior to services at the Funeral Home.
